The Ginger Private Pilot –
Your friendly flight sharing community
The Ginger Private Pilot was created in 2018 by its founder Will Pearce. It has become the first UK based cost shared flying platform. The aim is to connect Pilots and Passengers so that the wonders of flying can be enjoyed by everyone.
Flights can be anything from transport to another location to a sight-seeing adventure or day trip to somewhere special. Because passengers only pay a share of the flight costs, its more affordable than you think!
Our community is full of people who love flying, and our platform empowers them all to share flight costs so that everyone can fly more and save more.

How does flight sharing work?
Through our secure platform, pilots post their flights in advance, and potential passengers can view all available flights, and join up with any pilot on their trip.
The ‘cost-shared’ part refers to the costs of the flight which are shared between the pilot and passengers onboard the aircraft. Flight costs include fuel, airfield charges and rental fees for an aircraft.
The pilots and passengers simply cover the cost of the flight between them, allowing both parties to do what they love most.
Our pilots don’t make a profit from your contributions, so the price of our flights are kept to a minimum – significantly cheaper than commercial flights!
Things to remember
A shared flight is not a commercial flight, you are joining a private pilot in their light aircraft on a leisure flight as they share their joy of flying with you.
The planes are smaller, ranging from 2 to 6 seats.
Flights can be cancelled for any reason if the pilot wishes. This can be from aircraft availability, weather or even pilot availability.
