Confirm who you are

Simply upload your pilots license and medical certificate, and our verification system will confirm the documents and approve you for flight sharing.

Publish your Flights

After verification, you can start sharing your flights on the website. Here you’ll be able to adjust how much you’d like to contribute.

Accept your passenger bookings

Passengers will request bookings on your which will include information such as their weights, names and contact details.

With your passengers chosen, its time to enjoy some flying. This is an opportunity to share the wonder of flying with others and show them just how amazing the experience really is.

FAQs

How much does it cost to use the service?

Nothing. The Ginger Private Pilot is completely free to use with no membership fees or sign up charges. We simply add a fee for the passengers portion which allows us to grow and help more pilots fly for cheaper!

What do I need for verification?

Simply upload a photo of your current flying licences including your last ratings, along with a valid medical certificate. We will then verify everything for you.

What if I want to stay in control of who is on my aircraft?

We agree, which is why you remain in complete control of who you accept as a passenger at all times in your flight sharing.

How do I know passenger weight?

During the booking process, passengers are required to enter the total weight of the passengers and luggage, so you always have the information you need to hand.

What if I have to cancel the flight for any reason?

There is no pressure to fly, you can cancel a shared flight for any reason, no questions asked. Your passengers will have their payments credited automatically.

What costs will be shared?

There are a number of your flight costs that can be shared, differing slightly for rental aircraft and those who own their own airplane.

For owned airplanes, the shared flight costs include:

  • Fuel expenses
  • Airport fees including landing and tie down costs.

For rented airplanes:

  • Rental Costs
  • Fuel Costs (For dry rentals that do not include fuel)

In either case, the cost to passengers must never exceed their pro-rata share of those flight costs, but you are free to set your rate at anything up to that value. But remember, you must contribute to the flight!

How do I get paid the passenger’s share of flight costs?

We keep things simple. You add your Paypal Account to your profile, and we pay your share directly into your Paypal for the best security and reliability. The system automatically transfers the funds 72 hours after the flight is completed.

Are there any restrictions for complex aircraft?

The Ginger Private Pilot currently accepts all certified light aircrafts including variable pitch propeller planes such or aircraft with a retractible gear such as a Piper Arrow.

The Ginger Private Pilot does not allow complex aircraft of which is defined below by EASA regulation:

i) An aeroplane:
With a maximum certificated take-off mass exceeding 5,700 kg; or
Certificated for a maximum passenger seating configuration of more than 19; or
Certificated for operation with a minimum crew of at least two pilots; or
Equipped with (a) a turbojet engine(s) or more than one turboprop engine; or
ii) A helicopter certificated:
For a maximum take-off mass exceeding 3,175 kg; or
For a maximum passenger seating configuration of more than 9; or
For operation with a minimum crew of at least two pilots; or 
iii) A tilt rotor aircraft.
