How to search for our upcoming sightseeing flights

It’s simple and quick to search upcoming flights with The Ginger Private Pilot. From our Search Flights page:

1. Enter your city or postcode in the “Flying From” field
   
   
2. Enter the maximum distance you are willing to travel for your flight (there may not be flights from your city but, if you are willing to travel, setting a larger travelling distance will show all nearby flights & travel opportunities!)
   
   
3. Tick the type of flight you’re looking for – Sightseeing, Excursion or One Way A-B flights (or keep them all ticked if you want to browse the entire selection!)

Experience a different kind of flying with a cost shared flight

The Ginger Private Pilot is the UK’s first cost shared Flying Platform. While it’s popular across Europe for affordable travel and leisure experiences, it’s a relatively new concept over here in the UK. 

A cost shared flight is a flight whereby the total cost is split between the passengers and the pilot. Flight costs include things like the fuel, airfield charges and rental fees for the aircraft. 

Our pilots don’t make a profit from your contributions, so the price of our flights are kept to a minimum – significantly cheaper than commercial flights. 

By keeping prices down and sharing the costs, both parties can enjoy doing what they love most – travelling and experiencing the magic of flying!

What destinations can I fly to?

With new flights being posted all the time, our pilots offer a vast range of trip choices for your shared flight. If you find a destination is not covered, you can quickly post a flight request to pilots in the area and see if anyone will take you!

What aircraft will I be flying in?

In general, our pilots fly light aircraft, small single-engine piston planes that can carry between 2 to 6 passengers, including the pilot. The exact make and model will vary depending on the pilot in question, but full details of the airplane are included in flight descriptions.

How much does a shared flight cost?

Our pilots don’t make profit – Instead, they ask that passengers pay a share of the flight costs, including fuel, airport fees and any plane rental fees if they apply.

This means that each flight will have different costs, however, passengers will see an exact cost when requesting a flight. Your share of the flight costs will depend on how many passengers are on the flight, and the share of flight costs the pilot would like. This can be up to the pro-rata share.

All flights are quoted on the basis of every seat being filled. Passengers must pay for the cost of all seats on the aircraft regardless of the number of passengers flying.
